IWC watch brand was established in the year of 1868 by a young American named Florentine A. Jones. It is also a Swiss watch brand and it has a history more than 130 years. Since establishment of IWC watch factory, accuracy of timing has been grasped by the man. IWC means International Watch Company, targeting at promoting its watches in the whole world.

In this year IWC transformed to be a stock company, and founded its new workshop on Rhine River Bank.

IWC owned 196 staffs this year.
1879
IWC took part in the Basel World held in Sidney and started to gain fame in the international market.
1885
This year, IWC watches adopting first group of Pallweber system with display of hour and minute were produced, which was pioneering in the whole world.
1887
IWC Magique wrist watch with flexible watch case was born. This watch was equipped with 24-hour display function, which can be used as hunting watch.
1891
IWC started to offer serviced watches for Italian State Railways.

1906
IWC won Great Prix in the Basel World held in Milan.

1935
IWC started its cooperation with Patek Phillipe and exported its products into America.

1936

IWC issued its first pilot watch with black watch dial and luminescent pointers. And this watch has rotating inner ring and movement with anti-magnetism function.

1938
IWC issued its first observer watch with bigger second hand to satisfy needs of royal navy.

1945

IWC issued W. W. W. watch which is the first military watch with waterproof function for British land force.

1955

First wrist watch Ingenieur with automatic movement was produced

1970

IWC issued its first quartz watch Da Vinci equipped with Beta-21 movement.

1982

IWC produced its Ocean 2000 anti-magnetism watch which has waterproof function up to 2000 meters.

1993

IWC issued its Il Destriero, which was the most complicated watch. It has multi functions including tourbillion, ratrapantte timing and minute repeater.

2003

IWC issued Portuguese Perpetual Calendar and pitfire pilot watches in the Basel World held in Geneva.

2005

IWC Ingenieur issued its all-new series, which can express endless pursuit for watch-making technique.
